Nothing fancy but a meticulously clean place to stay - kind of like Grandma's house. Beds were comfortable and the bathroom was spotless. Everything you need for a good nights sleep AND can't beat it for the price!

Very courteous staff. Room was nothing special but just right for an overnight stay. Beds were comfortable, sheets and comforters were on the thinner side but worked. Checked in late here so not sure on any amenities. Rooms were furnished with a TV, microwave and small fridge. I would definitely recommend staying here for an overnight stay. Decent rate as well for a short notice stay.

What a nice surprise to find such a nice place on the side of highway 70! I understand that it was built with double bricks in the days when things were being built to last. This made it almost sound proof. These people should take pride in their place. The owner decorated each room differently. I traveled the South for over 10 years and did not see anywhere cleaner, more comfortable, or where the staff was nicer. I hope they have room for me the next time I go to Black mt.

3.5-4 stars. Bf and I were taking a road trip on the Blue Ridge Parkway from south to north. This was our first night and we drove a little too long before deciding to find a place. I like to find clean mom and pop's when we take these kind of trips. I'm a nostalgic person and like supporting small businesses. Sometimes you get burnt though, especially if it's late, you haven't checked reviews, and are just ready to get off the road. I was afraid this was to be the case because it was getting dark when we arrived and I was so ready to get out of my Jeep.

The owner was in the office and very friendly. He gave me a key and told me to go check the room out before making a decision. I went and looked and decided I would be fine here for the night. The place is dated, that is a fact. It is a step back in time. However, I gave it a good inspection on cleanliness, even looking under the bed, behind the headboard, and lifting up the mattress and pulling the covers back. It passed inspection. No signs of bugs, clean linens, and a hair free bathroom. Hot shower and bed, here I come.

The rate was cheap. It was a Tuesday night and the area was experiencing a gas shortage (50% of all stations in a 4 state area had no gas at all). So, the motel was almost empty. The owner said he had cancellations due to the gas shortage. So, we had the place almost to ourselves. It was quiet, with no scary type people around. My bf and I both conceal carry multiple firearms and I mostly feel safe almost anywhere. This town and motel were sleepy enough that we didn't sleep with one eye open. Also, the owner gave us some food recommendations and we weren't let down. Also, the wifi worked well. All in all, we had a good night's rest and came out on the cheap.

Wonderful place to stay , a little old fashion but in a classy way, very clean and the rooms are almost soundproof!!!!! The bathroom was larger than most places with a very deep tub // the price was more reasonable than all the other places we checked out before staying // the staff was very polite and sweet // . We will definitely stay here when we visit again

It's a nice clean cheap place to stay that offers smoking and non smoking rooms. The man who runs it is funny and friendly, as well as their staff. Quiet place not too much noise. Return customer.

Clean , very nice to have a fridge and microwave in room. They are older rooms but looks like they are updating with new windows but super clean . not bad for a last minute check in
